CHEESY FLAMMKUCHEN WITH SUGAR SNAPS AND FENNEL CHEESY FLAMMKUCHEN WITH SUGAR SNAPS AND FENNEL

So easy but oh so good! You can make so many different types of flammkuchen, but I love this combo. It’s Thuesday so head to the store and make this flammkuchen to celebrate that the workweek is almost finished.

For one flammkuchen. Ingredients: - One roll of fresh flammkuchen pastry - Sugar snaps (handful) - Green beans (handful) - ½ red onion - ½ fennel - 150gr of grated cheddar - 1 tablespoon of spicy oil (see recipe) - 1 tablespoon of sesame oil - Cayenne powder - Garlic powder - Salt - Pepper - Olive oil - 2 thyme branches - 200gr of dried chickpeas or baking pearls - Parchment/baking paper Recipe: 1. Pre heat your oven on 180°C. 2. Steam or cook the sugar snaps and green

beans. 3. Peel the read onion and cut it into fine

rings. 4. Cut the fennel finely. 5. Take a pan and place it on a medium-high

fire, add a little bit of olive oil and cook the

fennel shortly. 6. Take a piece of parchment/baking paper and place this on an oven plate. 7. Place the flammkuchen on the

parchment/baking paper. 8. Press holes in the flammkuchen with a fork. 9. Fold the edges of the flammkuchen.

10. Place a piece of parchment / baking paper on top of your flammkuchen pastry and place the dried chickpeas on top. They will prevent your flammkuchen pastry to rise. 11. Place the oven plate in your preheated oven for about 8 minutes. 12. In the meanwhile, take a small mixing bowl and add the spicy oil together with the sesame oil. 13. Pluck the leaves from your thyme branches and add the leaves to your mixing bowl. 14. Stir this together with a fork or whisk. 15. Once your flammkuchen is ready, you take a small food brush and you brush the oil mixture on top of your flammkuchen. 16. Afterwards, you add the grated cheese on top of your flammkuchen. 17. Finish off the flammkuchen with the steamed sugar snaps and green beans, onion and shortly baked fennel. 18. To finish off I add some more of the oil mixture, cayenne and garlic powder, salt and pepper on top of the flammkuchen. 19. Place the flammkuchen again in the oven for about 10 minutes.

And it's ready!
